How to score Waterpolo
A water polo match is played across four quarters.
Goals are scored when the ball is thrown completely across the opponent’s goal line.
The team with the most goals at the end of the match wins.
If tied, extra time or penalty shootouts may be used in knockout competitions.
A water polo scoreboard tracks four key things:
1️⃣ Goals scored by each team – updated immediately after each goal.
2️⃣ Match timer – counts down each quarter.
